How We Do Things

Tuition to Learn covers the Stroud and Brimscombe areas where we offer face to face tuition in English, Maths and Science at the Stroud Growth Hub. We also specialise in home tuition for those being home educated and can deliver bespoke sessions at you home during school hours either one to one or in small study groups. Where preferred we are experienced with online tuition and have had good results, this is now sometimes a necessity due to self isolation rules.

Our tutors know that motivation, confidence and self-esteem are paramount to delivering successful learning sessions. We take pride in the relationships that we make with our tutees and often parents come back year after year wanting tuition for younger siblings. Developing a consistent, personal and professional working relationship whereby the same tutor works with the same children each week is imperative to ensuring that these values are maintained.

More About Us

Christina Hussey started Tuition To Learn after working as a full-time tutor for over ten years at a leading tuition centre where she was also manager, she continues her involvement with evening tuition at the Cirencester Tuition Centre, which she started in 2019. Her focus with Tuition To Learn is to help parents with home education during school hours.

I love working with young people and am passionate about providing students with the best possible education that will benefit them throughout their adult lives.

I teach pupils from Year 11 (GCSE exams for Maths and English) down to Reception (phonics, basic numeracy, Spelling, Comprehension and Grammar). I provide SATS, 11+ preparation (Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning alongside English and Maths) and tuition for home-schooled students.

I am ASD trained and have good experience with ASD students. I make sure that lessons meet each individual's needs, abilities and personality. I believe education should be a stimulating and interesting experience and I am therefore creative and flexible in my approach. I listen carefully and patiently and respect my pupils.

I offer tuition for students that may be struggling at school, those aiming to achieve a particular grade from an upcoming exam, or those simply wanting to excel in Maths or English. Please don't hesitate to contact me, to talk about how best to meet the needs of your son or daughter.
